30 Day Drawing Challange: Day 20

20111206-190845.jpg

Today’s topic for the challenge is to draw something orange.  This is the coat of arms dashed up in the twelfth century for the town of Orange located in southern France. It used to be a principality, and booted one of its own across the channel to become William III of England. Neat! History! Facts!

More importantly, you will note my annotations to this sketch: there is no orange on the Orange coat of arms. It’s yellow ping-pong balls (?) and leaves on a blue field with a yellow band across the top with a blue horn with a red ribbon around it. What the hell, Orange?
